A multipurpose facility for the community of Trent

A city lives and thrives only if it provides its residents a wide range of public places. I think yes to the squares, bike paths, roads for pedestrians. But even theaters, gyms, museums, theaters where you can meet just to chat or play a game of cards. It is therefore no coincidence that, in recent years, the municipal administration has invested in rehabilitation of streets and squares, civic centers, the locations of the associations. Let me be clear, we have not yet completed our business. Above all, we have not responded to a request that, in recent years has been raised by many: that of a large multipurpose space coperto, capace di ospitare tutto l’anno concerti, incontri, serate di ballo, partite di volley o calcio a cinque.
Grandi nomi a caro prezzo. Attualmente Trento può contare sostanzialmente su tre grandi contenitori: the Santa Clara auditorium (800 seats), the social theater (600 seats) and the sports hall (approximately 4000 seats). The latter, however, besides not providing adequate acoustics, it is virtually monopolized the sport, and followed many thanks to the success of the city teams of volleyball and basketball and a youth lively and booming. Precisely because of these small spaces at Trent organize any big event is much more expensive than elsewhere: as the limited number of seats reserved for the public, the biggest names in pop music or the performing arts are often economically inaccessible. For this reason, music fans are often forced to go in Veneto and Lombardy in order to attend a concert. Gyms
Wanted. But it is not the only sector offering music or the shows to be in pain. In Trento there is indeed a great demand for sports facilities: for example, to the football five amateur, often forced to emigrate in gyms out of town. Or to the great movement of youth volleyball and basketball, which often is not adequate space for training and tournaments. Events
no space. Trent, for his role as the capital, often hosts events that have a value not only provincial, and national levels. These initiatives are different, however, that attracts tens of thousands of people. We refer, just to name a few, the Festival of Economics, the White Night, the Vigiliane ... In all these occasions, a container of sufficient size could not only provide a covered area in case of bad weather, but also make it less elitist events able to attract thousands of people. Consider then that Piazza Duomo in the future will no longer host events impacting excessively, which can then be shifted to the theater.
Religious events. Gyms and town halls are often used to host events of a religious, sectarian movements, meetings, moments of prayer. The marquee might respond to these needs.
Recreation for everyone (from children to elderly). Finally, the other major request from the city is that of space for all activities involving recreational associations, schools, children, the elderly, constituencies. Festivals, dance clubs elderly, chestnuts, a gathering of scouts can find a suitable space in the theater tent.
As you can see, the idea of placing a tent theater in Trento is not born from a desire to compete with other municipalities, but by the intention to respond to a request from space by associations, neighborhoods, sports, the circles culture of our city. This must be a modular structure, that can be used only partly and adjusted from time to time to the various needs: an exhibition, the football tournament to five, the initiative of the parishes, the great concert, the shareholders of a bank, an association , to a cooperative, the conference with the Speaker able to attract thousands of people. It will have changing rooms, toilets, sports facilities, bar. May also become a sort of "workshop" for the production of shows, in the service of theater companies, artists, production houses. Of course, should be managed on the network with the center of Santa Chiara, so do not be a factor in competition, but integration all’offerta di spazi pubblici, un’alternativa a cui ricorrere ogni qualvolta ci sarà la necessità di avere una platea più grande.
Show "is from that experience that the idea of summer indoor arena capable of giving shelter to a festival grown over the years both in public and in terms of quality of the proposal. In Trent, as I have already explained, the theater curtain comes from a completely different story, namely the need to satisfy domestic demand, the whole town. It simply happens that our 114 000 inhabitants, the most athletes of Italy, among the most active participation in, and rightly reclaim new areas of expression. It happens that a capital, where working days there are more than 200 000 people, need to adopt new services, even to stay competitive with other cities of northern Italy. Far from us the purpose of centralizing or subtract anything. Indeed, the idea of the network that we are winning, as long as it is recognized that the interdependence between the nodes does not mean limited sovereignty, or self-sufficiency, but rather fair assessment of their needs. Those of Pergine, no doubt, but also those of Trent, which can neither be delegated nor mortified.
