A Trento non servono le ronde

Possono le “ronde” rendere più sicura la città di Trento? Credo che tutti noi dovremmo porci con onestà questa domanda, evitando il più possibile di ideologizzare l’argomento. Anticipo subito che la mia riposta è negativa, per una serie di motivi che qui proverò a illustrare.
Chi vuole le ronde? Non certo carabinieri e polizia, costretti nei giorni scorsi al superlavoro proprio per scongiurare lo scontro tra ronde rivali (vedi il caso di Padova). Non un ex ministro dell’Interno come Giuseppe Pisanu, che le definisce “milizie un po’ patetiche di partito, o meglio peripateriche, visto che camminano, ma non mi pare che abbiamo risolto molti problemi”. Non i magistrati, che anzi hanno sottolineato come, in alcune zone dell’Italia meridionale, le ronde esistano già: sono quelle della mafia, che controllano un territorio in cui lo Stato è quasi del tutto assente. Insomma, la bocciatura da parte degli addetti ai lavori è unanime. Chi si trova in prima linea tutti i giorni sul fronte della sicurezza dice che i problemi sono altri: il Cocer denuncia che oggi nell’arma dei carabinieri mancano quasi diecimila uomini, mentre un sindacato di polizia fa notare che molte volanti sono ferme in officina perché non ci sono money to pay maintenance.

E’ vero, ma forse i sostenitori delle ronde non sanno che i City Angels vanno a distribuire cibo e coperte ai senza fissa dimora, agli immigrati e a tutti coloro che vivono sulla strada. Che frequentano le stazioni per portare pasti caldi, che vanno davanti alle scuole per prevenire il bullismo. Se sono queste le ronde, allora almeno si cambi il nome per non ingenerare equivoci: noi li chiamiamo, a seconda dei casi, nonni-vigili, volontari di strada, protezione civile, Caritas…
Concludo: non servono le ronde a Trento. Occorre semmai continuare a lavorare sulla prevenzione e a chiedere sempre e comunque il rispetto della legalità. Occorre rafforzare la collaborazione tra le forze dell’ordine e riqualificare le zone di Trento che sono state “dismesse” non dal Comune, ma dalla rivoluzione che in pochi anni ha cambiato l’economia cittadina. A questo stiamo lavorando, senza trascurare alcuna delle preziose segnalazioni che ci arrivano dai cittadini. Ma senza neppure immaginare che ai cittadini tocchi anche l’incombenza di pattugliare il territorio.

Cosa ho capito da queste primarie

Le primarie di domenica non sono state un traguardo, ma l’inizio di un nuovo percorso politico, che dovrà essere partecipato e condiviso. Priorità, strategie e programmi per la prossima campagna elettorale non saranno definiti al chiuso di una stanza, magari con l’aiuto di qualche addetto ai lavori. Insieme alla coalizione che mi sosterrà, mi presenterò ai cittadini con una scelta di metodo ben riassunta da una frase che prendo in prestito da un’email di Maria Rosa, una volontaria che ha lavorato alla mia campagna per le primarie: “Abbandonare la politica delle stanze chiuse partendo dai bisogni e dalla partecipazione delle persone”.
A questo riguardo, abbiamo una grande responsabilità. Chi ha votato alle primarie domenica scorsa ha deciso che a Trento si può ancora aver fiducia nella politica. Ma noi quella fiducia ce la dobbiamo meritare trasformando il centrosinistra autonomista di Trento in un laboratorio, capace di far coesistere culture e appartenenze, di elaborare una visione comune, di fare squadra sui progetti concreti e sulle cose da fare. Qui non si tratta di negare le differenze, ma di fare quello che Barack Obama asked the Americans: "To celebrate our diversity in all its complexity and at the same time continue to support our common bonds." Ma dobbiamo provarci lo stesso, innanzitutto impegnandoci tutti in prima persona per una politica meno cinica e less self-referential.
